My Toy Collection - Matrix Pics and Reviews

I am slowly starting to update My Toy Collection Section the way I intended from the conception of the site. Taking me longer then I thought but I slowly want to catalog and review all of my toys. Today I offer you reviews of The Matrix Action Figures. I will try and place reviews of more toy lines as often as I can. If anyone can get the 2nd wave of Matrix Figures for me I think I can give you some COOL items in trade ;)

Introducing first 2 partners here at the site

I am happy to finally announce to you all that Randy Falk and Nils Guldberg are joining Niubniub's to help me flesh out the DVD reviews section. With Star Wars Episode 1 coming to DVD this November, I have a feeling a lot of you will be discovering the amazing world of DVD video this Christmas - LOL.

I have changed the reviews design similar to Siskel and Ebert's buddy system. This way, you can see if I agree or not with what Nils and randy have to say - heh heh. Also at the bottom of each review is a e-mail link for you to participate and let the world know what YOU think of the film.

DVD Weekend Suggestion Reviews

This weekend, Nils pick is Alien Special Edition and Randy chose Hollow Man. You can read our thoughts on these DVD's as well as our first reviews...Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 2 Lost World, Muriel's Wedding, Planet of the Apes, Titan A.E. and X-Men. Just head on over to my Home Cinema section and click on the DVD Reviews Icon. Remember you can participate! Just go to the review page of the film and click on Rocks or Sucks. I hope to hear feedback from you.

I also updated the New DVD's section. Perhaps you also bought some of these new releases.

WOW, Toy hunting jackpot !

This week I bought the new Mummy Returns figures and Shrek figures. They are really cool. Look for pictures and reviews of these toys during the week in My Toy Collection section. I also got the Lando wave - so expect new pics of the figures and Force Files as well. I have a busy weekend ahead of myself - LOL.

Mummy Returns! Starts this weekend

I can't go until tuesday, some of the effects look really amazing. If any of you guys go see it this weekend, send me your comments. Is it good or should I save my money :)

MAY 07 2001 - MONDAY

MAY 09 2001 - WEDNESDAY

Character VR Wednesday

Today's VR is Tessek. Thanks to everyone who emailed me wanting to see him animated. Check him out and the other cool stop motion animated figures in the Virtual Characters C:VR section.

Choose A Character - Wave 10 Figures

I have received the Lando Wave, Jar Jar Tatooine, Lando Bespin Escape, Tessek, R2-Q5 and the Collapsed Pit Droid - Thanks Brent :) Their pictures and my review can be found in the Choose A Character Section. Just head on over and click on the figures names.

Jedi Force File Cards - Wave 10

For those who don't open your figures and want to see what you are missing - ha ha - I have added the Jedi Force File Cards for Jar Jar Tatooine, Lando Bespin Escape, Tessek, R2-Q5 in the Jedi Force File Cards Section.

Mummy Returns - First Major Summer Smash

Well I went to see Mummy Returns last night and I will say this...Thank God I paid $6 - LOL. There were some funny dialogue and some really cool Special Effects. Especially the army fight between the Warriors and the Anubis. Think Gungan battle ;)

What surprised me most though was the quality of some of the effects. Sometimes I thought I was watching the 7th voyage of Sinbad - a great movie, but not cg effects we are spoiled with today. What happened here? Were all the best people working on A.I. and Jurassic Park? Is it worth seeing? at least on dvd in 6 months. But the battles scenes are most impressive. I did however like the first better.

MAY 10 2001 - THURSDAY

POTJ in Montreal - Hooray for us canadians - LOL

Last night after groceries, I went to Walmart and found the Lando Wave of figures. There were lots of wave 7-8-9 as well (Queen Red Dress, Leia Bespin, Han hancuffs, K-3P0, Aura Sing etc...) It's really cool to see that the same waves showing up in the US are hitting our Canadian stores at the same time. Especially after 2 years of NOTHING! So fellow Canadians...get to the stores and cancel your Ebay Bids :) We can finally pay for our figures in Canadian currency - hee hee.

Hey Canadians!!! TOYS "R" US Ripping us off !!!!

I just want to mention how mad I am that TRU is selling POTJ figs at an outrageous $11.99 each plus tax when at Wal-Mart they are $8.91. I also noticed the Shrek Toys I bought at TRU (big mistake) were $4 cheaper at walmart :(

Why not let TRU feel that this is unacceptable. I for one will no longer buy ANY toy at TRU. I will stick to Wal-Mart and Zellers. If you feel like doing the same, Excellent. It's just so enraging when a store thinks it can charge anything they want and get away with it. As they say on The Weakest Link...."You are the MOST Expensive....Goodbye"

Just head on over to my Home Cinema section and click on the DVD Reviews Icon.

Remember you can also participate in the reviews. At the bottom of each dvd review are links to place your votes and let other readers see what you thought of the movie as well.

MAY 17 2001 - THURSDAY

Character VR Wednesday - well thursday :)

Today's VR is Lando Calrissian Bespin Escape. A really nice figure and hard to believe I know - but I actually LOVE the cloth cape on him. I think it's the only cloth item that works well and doesn't look like a piece of kleenex ;). Check him out and the other cool stop motion animated figures in the Virtual Characters C:VR section.

So busy at work - but 3 day weekend coming up

I have been swamped this week due to a dealine - always the case in post production - but I have something special planned for tomorrow and here in Canada we have a holliday Monday so I will have 3 days to devote to dioramas and the site. Will be lots of update material for next week :)

MAY 18 2001 - FRIDAY

Shrek In Theaters today!!!

I can't tell you how I cannot wait to see this movie. it looks amazing like Toy Story but even more advanced. Eddie Murphy's dialogue makes you pee in your fur as usual. I am sure many of you will be going this weekend as I will :) I will give you my thoughts after I see it. In the meantime...

My Toy Collection - New SHREK TOYS !!!!

Well it's 2 am and I've managed to put up individual pictures and figure reviews. These figures are gorgeous and a must for your collection if you really enjoyed the movie. You can click on the Shrek icon in My Toy Collection section. Way to go McFarlane - You've outdone yourself again :)

MAY 20 2001 - SUNDAY

YOU MUST GO SEE SHREK !!!!

I have now seen Shrek 3 times already (and going again today) it is THE funniest movie in a long time. Definately better then the Mummy Returns. And sometimes Princess Fiona looks like a real human actor - scarrry but very beautifull. Eddie Murphy steals the show. There are soo many great scenes it's hard to choose my favorite. Fiona singing with the bluebird, Robin Hood, Ginger Bread Man, The Frog, Wrestling, Dragon...Let me know what you liked best about the movie :)

In any case, If you have nothing to do...Head to the movies and see Shrek. I guarantee you will come out of the theater in a great mood and want to see it again. I know I will - hee hee.

MAY 27 2001 - SUNDAY

So much for my 3 day weekend

If you have visited during the week you will no doubt have noticed no updates. I have been working 12-14 hour days for 2 weeks now. We have been compositing some cool shots for Discovery Channels New Dinosaur series. Long hours but lots of fun. We delivered the last rush shot yesterday, so I should be at least going back to normal work hours.

I will be working all day on preparing new pictures for display during the week. I promise to have some really cool pictures tomorrow. In the meantime...

DVD Weekend Suggestions
