Now cut a piece to become the window ceiling. The
measurements are 5cm X 11.5cm. |
July 14, 2008
Align the ceiling piece FLUSH with the top edges
of the "C" foamcore shapes. |
July 14, 2008
Use the Hot Glue to secure the piece from the INSIDE
like if you were sealing a bathtub.
This will avoid the glue to drip on the ceiling side
that is seen in the diorama. |
July 14, 2008
Now for the window sils. You need a top and a bottom.
The bottom is slightly bigger then the top sil.
by 1.5cm
Take the inside squares from the door frame cuts
(see step 56) and cut out the tops of the pieces...
Measure 2cm from the top and create TWO
11.5cm X 2cm pieces. Now measure 11.5cm X 3.5cm for one
of the big rectangles, and 11.5cm X 5cm for the other.
DO NOT CUT YET, just draw a line with your pencil.
July 14, 2008
Use the Hot Glue to attach the two smaller pieces
to each of the bigger rectangles.
You want to put the glue along the edge of the BIG
pieces and press the smaller rectangles onto the big
pieces. |
July 14, 2008
Now we need to cut the window sils to their proper
length using the lines you measured in Step 64.
ONE IMPORTANT THING ...
The cut is at a 45 degree angle. |
July 14, 2008
You want the max length of the piece to be on the
bottom so that the decal will fit properly and the
45 degree angle slants inward to the right as you
see in the photo. |
July 14, 2008
Cut out the Ceiling decal. |
July 14, 2008
Peel back the sticker sheet and apply it centered
on the ceiling piece.
If you didn't print on sticker paper, use a glue
stick to attach it to the foamcore.
DO NOT USE HOT GLUE. |
July 14, 2008
Now take the 2 front and rear window decals and cut
those out. |
July 14, 2008
Apply one side, then flip the window and apply the
other side.
It is EASIER if you align the TOP first and then
let the sides of the stickers go down onto the length
of the window frame sides. |
July 14, 2008
Cut out and place one of the window inside walls. |
July 14, 2008
There will be a little excess. Simply use your Xacto
blade and trim the ends moving the blade along the
foamcore edge. |
July 14, 2008
You will now have a nice clean flush window edge. |
July 14, 2008
Repeat the same for the other side of the window
wall. |
