... an engine pod. At least thats what I think it
is, I don't really know what it's called.
I started by finding plastic napkin holders at the
dollor store.
I traced out the shape on a piece of foamcore with
a pencil. |
July 14, 2008
Cut out the circle you just traced... |
July 14, 2008
... and Hot Glue it to one of the plastic napkin
holders. |
July 14, 2008
Then Hot glue the other napkin holder to the other
side of the foamcore circle.
You now have a Yo-Yo LOL |
July 14, 2008
Take a white strip of paper about 2 or 3 inches wide.
It's not really imortant. |
July 14, 2008
You just want to tape it at one end and then wrap
it all the way around the Yo-Yo thingee. |
July 14, 2008
What you want is to hide the groove in the center
. That is the purpose of this cardboard paper. |
July 14, 2008
Now cut a little rectangle out of foamcore. 4cm
X 2cm.
From the TOP end measure 1.5cm... the yellow line.
Then
measure 1cm from the TOP and BOTTOM CORNERS and
draw a line from
those marks to the tip of the yellow line. |
July 14, 2008
You will now have a shape that looks like this.
Trace this piece on some foamcore scraps... |
July 14, 2008
... and cut out a total of 8 pieces. |
July 14, 2008
Now take 2 pieces and the a 45 degre angle using
your Xacto blade.
Cut on the LONG straight side and cut OPPOSITE angles
for both pieces. See Step 149 to better understand. |
July 14, 2008
You now need to cut a small rectangle just 2cm X
1cm and slice off 45 degrees on the TOP. |
July 14, 2008
You now have 3 pieces. the TOP tiny piece and Left
and Right angled side pieces. See how the yellow lines
explain what I mean by cutting each side the opposite
angle. |
July 14, 2008
Take your Hot Glue and attach the small TOP piece
to one of the side pieces.
See how the TOP piece angle fits FLUSH with the side
pieces edge. |
