PLEASE NOTE...

This Diorama was made during the preperations for the Celebration III workshop. I had finished the Diorama just 2 days before we left for Indianapolis, and had no time to put all the text information into the final Making Of Web Pages. Due to it's GIGANTIC size and limited space in the cargo van, I gave it to a fan of the site at the convention and didn't bring it back home with me.

Because I no longer have the actual diorama in front of me to measure the missing step instructions to help you build this room, I want to warn you NOW that the specific DETAILED instructions go Missing Starting with Step 143 on Page 15.

You can still read my step by step comments till the end and see how it was built, but these pages do not contain the accurate measurements for you to cut the pieces as you read on Pages 1 through 14. Sorry for this inconvience, I just wanted to warn you ahead of time BEFORE you start making this and then 3/4 down the road you say "WHAT???? No more measurements???"

When I rebuild this room for my basement display area, I will finish the exact details so that you too can more easily (without guessing) create this scene at home. Enjoy the pics, Frank D. NiubNiub

This room is BIG :) I don't know how many will be created at C3 but remember that this will be a great project for your home when the Decals are available for Download after the convention.

The foamcore is actually 2 sheets side by side. The falcon is the Hasbro toy NOT a micro machine :P

Let's start with the Alcove that R2 and 3P0 hide in and rescue the heroes from the Trash Compactor.

Cut out a 36cm X15.5cm piece of Black Foamcore.

There is a section that is the alcove so we need to cut that out. On one side measure 12cm, and from the other 6cm. At the top, measure out 2.5cm.

Connect your markings and cut out the center part.

For the Side Neon Walls we need 2 pieces of 5.5cm X 13.5cm.

Take the Hot Glue Gun and secure the first rectangle to the edge of your main wall.

Make sure your joint is FLUSH with the edges so your decal will not warp or have bumps.

Do the same for the other side.

Now take your cut out piece and Hot Glue it to the edge of the Left Neon Wall, the one next to the 12cm wall

Make sure it is FLUSH to give you a clean joint.

You will notice there is a small .5cm gap on the top end.

DO NOT panic :)

This is where you will fit the ceiling piece later on.

Let the glue harden before glueing the ceiling into place.
