I decided to use the Mace with Jedi Robe from Episode
1 since he looks SO much better then any of the Mace's
released with POOPOO Action Features. I simply chopped
off his arms and knees as well as remove the back
side of the lower Inner Robe |

Here poor Mace is sitting at the mercy of Niubniub.

I was nice enough to use my Hot Glue Gun and attach
his Lower Legs at the knees. :) |

Next step is to fill the cracks with Super Sculpy
and use your Hair Dryer to harden the Sculpy in place.
This will prevent any mishaps while you handle the
figure and also reinforces the Knees. Remember they
are still very fragile so hold him gently. |

I decided to custom Mace based on the movie pose
where his hands are together. What better hands to
do this then palpatine's ? I don't need the long sleeves,
so I cut those off as well as a little chop chop at
the shoulders. Remember to always be carefull when
cutting plastic with your Xacto blades. |

Since the arms are not quite long enough to reach
the movie pose, I attached them a little lower with
my hot Glue gun. It looks silly but won't show once
the Robe is added on top. |

December 31, 2002
Let's start by flatening some Super Sculpey like
a pie crust. I then cut out 2 long strips for the
Torso and 2 smaller pieces to drape over the thighs. |

Carefully place the Super Sculpy over the figures
Thighs and Shoulders.
Now get your tools out and start adding details.
Use any Jedi figure with a Robe to help figure out
where to place the folds. |

Here is what the Robe looks like so far.
I sculpted the folds while Mace was sitting in the
chair so that it flows to the chairs countours as
well as Mace's body. |

Time to make more Pie Crust :D
Use a roller to smooth out your Super Sculpey... |
|
 |
 |
December 31, 2002
... and cut out 4 little rectangle shapes. These
will be for the Sleeves. |
|
 |
 |
December 31, 2002
Fold the first rectangle over the Forearms of the
Mace figure.
Make sure that it reaches all the way under the arm
so that you don't have a hole. |
|
 |
 |
December 31, 2002
Next drape the 2 other rectangle pieces over the
Biceps of the mace figure.
It doesn't matter if the pieces don't reach all
the way to his back. you can add those pieces after. |
|
 |
 |
December 31, 2002
Now use a Jedi figure to help you sculpt some folds
and blend all the pieces together.
We are almost finished :)
Now don't forget to use your hair Dryer to harden
the Super Sculpey. about 1 minute is plenty. |
|
 |
You just want
it hard enough so that your fingers don't smoosh all the
folds as you continue to work on your sculpt. |
 |
December 31, 2002
Now this is an easy part. Cut a rectangle from your
rolled out Super Sculpey... |
